Story
As you may already know I lost my partner Brian, to brain cancer earlier this year. Brian was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Multiforme Grade 4 (GBM) in December 2014. Despite a valiant fight with extensive treatments and surgeries, he succumbed to this disease in January this year. Like many diagnosed with a GBM, Brian's life expectancy was just 13 months, only 20% survive for 5 years.
In Brian's honour my daughters, Mikayla Hawken, Tikira Hawken and myself are taking part in the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2016 and helping to raise much needed funds for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation to raise awareness and provide support.
This September, I’m going to be sweating it out and doing my best to complete a gruelling course over the Harbour Bridge, around Sydney's CBD and finishing at the Opera House steps...
I am honoured to be a part of this amazing race and helping a great cause, and I’d really appreciate your support in this endeavour.
