Story

I'm taking part in the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2016 and helping to raise much needed funds for charity.

This September, I’m going to be sweating it out and doing my best to complete a gruelling course over the Harbour Bridge, around Sydney's CBD and finishing at the Opera House steps...

I am honoured to be a part of this amazing race and helping a great cause, and I’d really appreciate your support in this endeavour.

Thank you for your support and helping to make a difference!

Surf Life Saving NSW

Your donation can help save lives on our coastline TODAY! Your support goes directly towards coastal safety education, rescue and life saving equipment as well as training and development programs for our 76,000 dedicated volunteers across 129 clubs in NSW. The training Patrick Jacob (an off duty Central Coast Lifesaver) received, kicked in when he received a frantic call from his neighbour alerting him of an emergency unfolding at nearby North Entrance Beach whilst working from home. Patrick was able to act immediately and rushed into rough water conditions to rescue a 14-year-old boy who had been swept out to sea in a rip and was struggling to keep his head above water. With the vital training Patrick received from his surf lifesaving club, he was able to save this young boy and return him safely to his mother.

Throughout the 2022/23 season, over 3,500 Australians were rescued from similar, potentially fatal situations along the NSW coastline we all share and love. Your support is vital to ensuring we remain equipped and ready to save lives this summer and ensure the safety of the 7.4 million people who visit the beach each year.

Surf Life Saving NSW 2022/23 season at a glance:

  • Rescues: 3,505
  • Preventative actions: 175,684
  • Cases of First Aid provided: 5,930
  • Volunteer hours: 659,131
