Dear all
I'm taking part in the 2016 Sydney Bridge Run and helping to raise funds for SecondBite. http://secondbite.org/
SecondBite is a non-profit organisation that identifies sources of surplus fresh food, which would otherwise go to waste, and distributes it to community organisations providing food to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities: homeless, refugees, family in needs..
Since its foundation in 2005, SecondBite has rescued over 20 million kilograms of surplus fresh food, enough for 40.7 million meals.
I am honoured to become a board member of this amazing charity and and helping a great cause, and I’d really appreciate your support in this endeavour.
- Every $10 donated to SecondBite provides enough food for 25 hearty and nutritious meals.
- $50 will provide enough fresh nutritious meals to feed a family of 4 people for a week.
- $500 will provide enough funds to rescue 1 tonne of fresh nutritious food for vulnerable people.

SecondBite
SecondBite is committed to making a positive difference to people by identifying sources of nutritious surplus fresh food and produce that would otherwise go to wastes and facilitating its safe and timely distribution to agencies and people in need . SecondBite redistributes surplus fresh food to community food programs around Australia. Food is donated by farmers, wholesalers, markets, supermarkets, caters and events. This high quality surplus food is redistributed to community food programs that supply people who are homeless, woman and families in crisis, youth at risk, indigenous communities, asylum seekers and new arrivals. SecondBite has an established research team that is committed to furthering our understanding of food insecurity in Australia, and we continue to develop programs that provide long term preventative solutions to the issue of food insecurity in Australia.
